Challenge and Collaboration
"Lake Tahoe is an incredible natural attraction that draws millions of people each year. We have a shared responsibility to build on our commitments at all levels to be sure that the lake and its environs are protected. That is why I believe the collaborative efforts and partnerships that have emerged in the Lake Tahoe communities are so essential to its future." -- President Clinton |

What's Happening at Lake Tahoe?
The President and Vice President will visit Lake Tahoe in late July to discuss the challenge of sustaining the environmental and economic health of the Lake Tahoe Basin and its communities. The Forum will consider the challenges facing the Lake Tahoe Basin and highlight the cooperative efforts working to resolve those issues.
Prior to the Presidential and Vice Presidential visit, senior Administration officials will host three issues workshops to consider critical issues and highlight partnerships that have evolved from collaborative efforts in the Lake Tahoe area. Most recently the Tahoe Basin Event Steering Committee sponsored two community meetings (May 27 & 28) to gather community input for the issue workshops.
