1996-97 Sustainability Projects

The projects identified on this page were developed during the June, 1996 Curriculum Planning Workshop or are other sustainabilty projects proceeding with the assistance of the Tahoe Center. Project updates are current through October, 1996. The teachers identified prepared the goals of the projects and the evaluation techniques. Watershed Fair
Initiated and organized by Toni Rockwell (Rideout Elementary, Grade 4) and involving all interested classes in the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District. Interested classes from other districts are welcome as well.

Earth Day, 1997: Incline Village
Initiated and organized by Jan Ellis (Incline Elementary, GTE), this day-long school festival will involve interactive field study demonstrations, an art corral, and games - all focusing on the environment at Lake Tahoe. Watch this space for the agenda and ways you can become involved!
