Prosser Creek Adopt-a-Watershed
Project Description
Description: Survey of the Prosser Creek watershed to determine its current health, past influences on the
environment, and appropriate future uses.
Instructional Goals of the Project:
- Make science applicable (learn basic science skills).
- Develop stewardship for the area, appreciation and concern.
- Learn about history, practices and how its affected watersheds.
- Define water quality and what effects it- how it affects us.
- Determine water quality of specified area through testing.
- Help determine and fix or help prevent future problems.
- Keep and interpret long term scientific studies.
- Study something of interest/relevance to environmental agency.
- Compare data with other schools/ educate other public.
- Come up with future scenarios for development and what it would do to watershed.
Evaluation Technique: journals, tests, data collection, lab reports, symposium, research paper, photo time series.
