Sustainability Curriculum Program... | Enhancing environmental education through a community project based process which engages both environmental and human needs. |

We Welcome Your Support!
If this program interests you, many opportunities exist for all levels of possible commitment. You may contact Sue Rae Irelan at srirelan@sierra.net for more information.
- Contribute to TCSF to coordinate professional and
community access to classrooms. A $250 contribution
will coordinate 10 classroom visits. This contribution is
tax deductible.
- Answer student questions posted on the Tahoe-
Truckee Community Network (TTCN) or the Tahoe Basin
Wide Area Network on the Internet. Access to these
networks are easy and can be arranged to fit each
participant's schedule.
- Prepare a written statement of your "stakeholder's
interest" (e.g. business). These statements will be used
in class for students to role play different points of view
as they explore sustainability issues.
- Meet with individual classrooms to share your
knowledge and point of view about issues related to
sustainability. TCSF will help coordinate between
teachers and interested community participants to meet
scheduling needs and differing available skills.
- Sponsor an outdoor project which addresses
sustainability. This could include a wide variety of
environmental studies, restoration, surveys, or other
outdoor activities. The requirements are: a project site,
coordination with the teacher and students to develop the
project parameters, monitoring the progress of the
project, and participation in evaluation at the project's
conclusion.
