Memorandum of Understanding With ISD

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is made and entered into as of the 21st day of December, 1995 by and between the organizations who have executed it, as set forth below.

RECITALS

WHEREAS, the parties to this MOU have joined together to work on Application B. of Tahoe Center for a Sustainable Future's (TCSF's) Program for Building Information and Technology Capacity and a real time monitoring system for the Tahoe region (collectively the "Program"); and

WHEREAS, the parties intend to prepare proposals to the U.S. EPA and other grant making organizations for all or a part of the Program from time to time and desire this MOU to facilitate their devoting time and resources to such preparation.

NOW THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:

  1. The Tahoe Center for a Sustainable Future (TCSF), Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) and World Resources Institute (WRI) agree to pursue funding to perform the Program.
  2. In general, a) TCSF will coordinate the overall Program for the parties and will work on the outreach functions, b) WRI and ISD will provide the technical and scientific expertise to support the Program, and c) TRPA will implement the real time monitoring.
  3. The amount of funding to be sought from time to time and a complete description of the goals, deliverables, exact functions of each of the parties and schedules for the Program shall be as specified in the proposals which shall be prepared with the agreement of all parties.
  4. This MOU shall begin on the date above and continue for a period of two years, with the understanding that it will likely be extended to complete elements of the Program. As time is of the essence, a signature by fax is valid and effective to bind the party making same.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this MOU is effective as of the date first above written.
