Training Preparation Checklist

In order to maximize the efficiency of our training effort we need you to
have the following items available for the scheduled training. Please note
that the training will last from 4 - 6 hours and can be scheduled on-site or
at our offices. The goal of the training will be to get your website
on-line and teach one or two staff members how to keep your homepage updated.
- Schedule a Training Date - Contact Heather Babcock (916-525-9100) or Sue Rae Irelan (916-525-1646) to find a training date that fits into your schedule.
- Computer - If the training is at your site, please indicate whether we
will be using at PC or Macintosh. Also, will we be using a network node
(workstation) or a stand-alone?
- ISP, modem and available phone line - Are there any problems you
foresee getting a connection to the Internet?
- Two (2) blank diskettes (PC Formatted) for copying freeware (HTML Assistant Pro Freeware and WS_FTP)
- Files of all the information you plan to include on your website
(including mission, agendas, meeting minutes, programs, directories, etc.).
These are best saved onto separate diskettes in text format (extension
.txt). This saves us a lot of typing.
- Graphics - Have any graphics you wish to put on your website (logos, pictures, etc.) available in .gif or .jpeg format. If you are unable to
accomplish this we can scan images for you at a later date. Give your
printer a call and see if they have your graphic files stored from previous
print jobs.
- Outline - Draft an outline of a homepage. This is similar to a Table
of Contents for all of the information you plan to include. (See General Web Site Outline.)
We look forward to meeting with you in person and getting your
organization/agency on-line on the World Wide Web. Training Scheduled for:
- Organization
- Trainees
- Training Date
- Start Time
